Milestone gives enterprises added confidence in deploying Humanix to protect trusted workflows against social engineering attacks
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Humanix, the company behind the Human Threat Detection and Response platform for social engineering attacks, today announced it has achieved SOC 2 Type II compliance following an independent examination by Johanson Group LLP.

The announcement comes as interactive social engineering plays a growing role in enterprise breaches. Mandiant’s M-Trends 2026 found voice-based phishing rose to 11% of observed initial infection vectors in 2025, making it the second most common, while email-based phishing fell from 14% to 6%. Mandiant also points to financially motivated groups aggressively targeting IT help desks, where employees can restore access or make sensitive account changes in response to requests that appear legitimate.
For defenders, the evidence of social engineering often lives in the natural language and context of the interaction rather than in a discrete technical event. Voice makes the challenge especially clear because attackers can adapt throughout a live exchange, but the same dynamic extends beyond calls. Effective detection requires understanding what is being requested, who is making the request, and whether the interaction follows the procedure governing the action.
Humanix analyzes the interaction itself. Its conversational AI evaluates natural language alongside identity and procedure context to detect social engineering as it develops. The platform can recognize pressure intended to influence a decision, inconsistencies in a claimed identity, and skipped verification within the workflow. Humanix connects those signals to the requested action and alerts security teams with investigation context and recommended actions, creating an opportunity to re-verify before a malicious request becomes unauthorized access.
Detecting social engineering at this level requires Humanix to process sensitive interaction and identity data from enterprise systems. Customers therefore need confidence in the controls protecting the platform as well as in the detections it produces. SOC 2 Type II gives security, risk, and procurement teams an independent basis for evaluating those controls.
“Social engineering succeeds by turning trusted interactions into access,” said Keith Stewart, Founder and CEO of Humanix. “Humanix gives security teams a way to detect the attack before the requested action is completed. SOC 2 Type II gives customers independent assurance over the controls supporting Humanix as they deploy the platform in sensitive workflows.”
