Daily Lunch & Learn sessions October 19–23 will address five common beliefs that often keep individuals and families from creating an estate plan.
WASHINGTON, DC, DC, UNITED STATES, October 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Daily Lunch & Learn sessions October 19–23 will address five common beliefs that often keep individuals and families from creating an estate plan.
In recognition of Estate Planning Awareness Month, Life & Legacy Counselors will host a special weeklong Lunch & Learn series from October 19 through October 23, 2026, focused on breaking down some of the most common myths and misconceptions surrounding estate planning.
Each day at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time, attendees will be invited to join Life & Legacy Counselors for a different conversation addressing one of the beliefs that often causes people to delay planning for themselves and their families.
The five-day series is designed to make estate planning feel more understandable, accessible, and relevant to people at every stage of life.
“Many people know they should have an estate plan, but there is usually something holding them back,” said Aimee Griffin, Owner and Principal Attorney of Life & Legacy Counselors. “Sometimes it is cost. Sometimes it is age. Sometimes they believe their family already knows what they want. During this series, we want to address those concerns directly and help people understand what planning really looks like.”
Five Days. Five Estate Planning Myths.
Each Lunch & Learn begins at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time and addresses a different misconception that can prevent individuals and families from creating an estate plan.
Monday, October 19 — What’s Stopping You from Planning?
Tuesday, October 20 — Probate Wasn’t That Bad
Wednesday, October 21 — I Can’t Afford a Lawyer
Thursday, October 22 — I’m Too Young to Plan
Friday, October 23 — My Family Knows What I Want
Estate Planning Is About More Than a Will
One of the goals of the October series is to help families understand that estate planning involves more than deciding who receives property after someone passes away.
A comprehensive estate plan may also address issues such as financial decision-making, healthcare wishes, incapacity, guardianship, beneficiary planning, trusts, probate, and who will have the legal authority to act when important decisions need to be made.
“Estate planning gives families an opportunity to make important decisions before they are forced to make them during a crisis,” Griffin said. “Education is one of the first steps. Once people understand what is involved, planning often feels much less intimidating.”
