The official arts component of The Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival returns October 21–25, 2026, bringing together more than 20 galleries, museums and cultural institutions from over 10 Caribbean nations, the wider Americas, Africa and The United Kingdom for a celebration of contemporary art, dialogue and cultural exchange.

NASSAU, The Bahamas, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — This October, the Caribbean’s contemporary art community will gather in Nassau, The Bahamas, as FUZE Caribbean Art Fair opens its fourth edition under the theme Coming Home. More than 100 artists and over 20 galleries, museums and cultural institutions representing more than 10 Caribbean nations and the wider Americas, Africa and The United Kingdom will participate in a five-day programme of exhibitions, installations, conversations and cultural exchange.

Since launching in 2023 organized by The Current: Baha Mar Gallery & Art Center, FUZE Caribbean Art Fair has been the official arts component of The Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival, bringing together artists, galleries, collectors, curators and audiences through exhibitions, conversations and shared experiences. The fair continues to position The Bahamas as a destination for contemporary art while fostering connections between Caribbean creative communities and the global art world.

The fourth edition explores the theme Coming Home, an invitation to reflect on belonging, identity and connection in an increasingly fragmented world. The theme considers home not only as a physical place, but as an emotional and cultural space shaped by memory, community and shared experience. Through this lens, FUZE reimagines the art fair as a gathering place rooted in collaboration, accessibility and opportunity, where the value of art extends beyond the marketplace and is realized through the relationships and communities it inspires.

The 2026 edition will feature a diverse range of artistic practices, including painting, sculpture, photography, installation and multidisciplinary works. Participating galleries, museums, institutions and independent artists will present perspectives that reflect the complexity, innovation and evolving narratives of contemporary Caribbean art. Featured artists include Lavar Munroe, whose presentation alongside the late John Beadle titled In Another Man’s Yard, curated by Dr. Krista Thompson at the 61st Venice Biennale marked the first time in thirteen years that The Bahamas was represented there—a milestone made especially significant by Baha Mar’s role as a major sponsor. The fair will also feature the work of internationally recognized artists, including New Jersey based, St. Martin artist Deborah Jack, Bahamian artist April Bey, represented by Vielmetter LA and TERN Gallery; distinguished artist Antonius Roberts OBE; Jamaican artist Charles Campbell; and Desmond Beach, represented by Richard Beavers Gallery in New York and recipient of the FUZE x SCOPE Residency Prize. Together, these artists exemplify the depth, diversity, and global resonance of contemporary Caribbean art.

Participating galleries and institutions will include TERN Gallery, The Current Baha Mar: Gallery & Art Center, and Galerie Myrtis, alongside other regional and international exhibitors whose presence underscores FUZE’s growing reach and relevance within the broader art world.

Beyond the exhibition floor, FUZE 2026 will offer a robust programme of public engagement designed to keep the week full of activity and conversation. Visitors can expect creative panel discussions, workshops, Pulse Talks—academic presentations—and other programming that bring together artists, scholars, collectors, students and the public in meaningful dialogue. One of the fair’s most anticipated highlights will once again be the figure drawing class with John Cox, a fan favorite that has become a signature experience for attendees.

Education and accessibility remain central to FUZE’s mission. Through the support of the Baha Mar Foundation and title sponsor Scotiabank, hundreds of school students from across the country’s capital, New Providence, will participate in educational tours of the fair during the week. Scope Art Show’s partnership strengthens FUZE’s international reach, connecting Caribbean artists and galleries with global collectors, curators, and cultural institutions. Through The Blue Floor Project, a FUZE initiative presented during Miami Art Week at SCOPE Art Show, the fair showcases a curated selection of Caribbean contemporary art to introduce new audiences to the region’s artists and expand awareness of FUZE’s mission.
