ROARING SPRING, PA, UNITED STATES, September 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Bringing Decades of Clinical Experience, Compassionate Leadership, and a Commitment to Communication, Trust, and Meaningful Patient Care
With nearly four decades of nursing experience, Lesly Miller-Jacobs, BSN, RN, RNC-OB, CRNI, CPST, CPXP, has built a distinguished career centered on clinical excellence, patient advocacy, and the belief that every interaction in healthcare is an opportunity to make a difference.
Based in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, Lesly has spent much of her professional life supporting patients through some of their most important and vulnerable moments. Her career began with extensive experience in labor and delivery and infusion therapy, providing her with a broad clinical foundation and a deep understanding of the importance of safe, compassionate, patient-centered care.
During her 22-year tenure as an RN with Geisinger Holy Spirit, Lesly developed extensive expertise in bedside nursing, IV therapy, and women’s health. Her dedication to her patients and colleagues earned her multiple forms of professional recognition, including nominations for Nurse of the Year and recognition as a top RN performer in Pennsylvania. Her expertise also extended beyond the bedside, as she presented at national infusion nursing conferences and remained actively engaged in advancing professional knowledge.
Today, Lesly serves as Patient Advocate and Community Liaison at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, where she brings her clinical experience into a role focused on improving the overall patient experience. Rather than simply addressing individual concerns, she works to identify broader opportunities for organizational improvement and stronger communication between patients, healthcare professionals, and leadership.
Her responsibilities include conducting patient interviews, analyzing voice-of-the-customer survey results, and collaborating with leadership teams to identify opportunities for quality improvement. Recently earning her Certified Patient Experience Professional (CPXP) certification, Lesly has further strengthened her ability to advocate for patients while helping healthcare organizations better understand and respond to their needs.
At the heart of Lesly’s approach is a simple philosophy she first encountered during nursing school: “Go out there and make a difference.” That advice has remained her personal mantra throughout her career.
For Lesly, making a difference does not necessarily require a dramatic action. It can mean helping a patient feel heard, improving a clinical process, supporting a colleague, or taking the extra time to explain something clearly. She believes that intentionally leaving something better than she found it can transform the way a person approaches each workday.
Her commitment to others is also reflected in the way she supports the next generation of nurses. Lesly credits much of her own success to the encouragement she received from family, friends, coworkers, leadership, and mentors who helped build her confidence throughout her career. Because others invested in her, she believes strongly in returning that support, particularly by encouraging young nurses and helping them develop the confidence needed to establish themselves in the profession.
Her advice to young women entering healthcare is equally straightforward: never give up. Lesly encourages aspiring nurses to continue pursuing their goals, even when progress comes in small increments. She recognizes that meaningful achievements are often built over time and believes that consistent forward movement can ultimately lead to significant accomplishments.
Lesly also recognizes the challenges currently facing the nursing profession. In her view, one of the industry’s most significant concerns extends beyond temporary staffing shortages to the larger question of attracting enough people to nursing as a career. When fewer individuals enter the profession, existing nurses have less time to spend with each patient.
This shortage can affect more than staffing levels; it can influence the depth of patient education and connection nurses are able to provide. Lesly believes nurses should have the opportunity to do more than simply administer medications and explain their side effects. They should have the time to teach patients how treatments work, why they are necessary, and how they can help prevent or manage specific disease processes.
For Lesly, communication, trust, honesty, and advocacy remain essential both professionally and personally. She views communication as the foundation of every meaningful relationship, whether between healthcare professionals and patients, coworkers, or family members. Open and honest communication creates the opportunity to confront challenges, establish expectations, and develop solutions together.
Honesty is particularly important in nursing, where professionals are sometimes required to deliver difficult news. Lesly believes that being truthful allows patients and families to understand what they are facing and gives them the ability to process difficult circumstances with clarity and trust.
Ultimately, Lesly continues to define her career through service and advocacy. From her years at the bedside to her current work improving patient experiences and organizational communication, she remains committed to helping people feel respected, informed, and supported.
With decades of clinical knowledge behind her and a continued passion for patient-centered healthcare ahead of her, Lesly Miller-Jacobs demonstrates that making a difference is not a single achievement—it is a daily commitment.
