Windsong Communications Agreement brings TCN’s 24-hour country music, entertainment and lifestyle programming to Houston, Beaumont, Lake Charles and Corpus Christi, with additional markets planned
FORT WORTH, Texas, Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The Country Network(™) (“TCN”) today announced a new Distribution Agreement with Windsong Communications, Inc. that significantly expands TCN’s over-the-air television presence across four strategically important Gulf Coast markets in Texas and Louisiana.
Beginning September 1, 2026, TCN’s 24-hour programming feed will be distributed through Windsong over-the-air television stations serving:
- Houston, Texas — KVQT-LD
- Beaumont, Texas — KAOB-LD
- Lake Charles, Louisiana — K21OB-D
- Corpus Christi, Texas — K33QP-D
Based on TCN and Windsong estimates, the expansion is expected to increase TCN’s potential distribution reach by approximately 20%, bringing the Network’s broader distribution footprint to approximately 48 million television households.
The Agreement represents another step in TCN’s strategy to develop a larger domestic and worldwide media platform while creating additional opportunities for country artists, advertisers, sponsors, private brands, programming partners and viewers.
“We are not simply adding four dots to a distribution map. We are building a stronger media platform around the people, music, businesses and communities that make country culture what it is,” said Kenneth W. Williams II, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Country Network. “We are excited about sharing Windsong’s winning mission to democratize the media in the Golden Triangle. Recent highlights include $46.5 billion GDP, 260,982 jobs, 769,566 people, and one of the world’s largest concentrations of petrochemical and LNG infrastructure wealth. This Agreement strengthens our reach throughout an economically important region while giving artists, viewers and brands another way to participate in what we are building.”
A STRATEGIC GULF COAST EXPANSION
The addition of Houston, Beaumont, Lake Charles and Corpus Christi expands The Country Network’s Gulf Coast distribution to approximately 9.2 million people and 3.7 million television households, establishing a strategically connected presence across major population centers and economically significant markets tied to country music, energy, petrochemicals, LNG, manufacturing, agriculture, logistics and outdoor recreation. Houston strengthens TCN’s position in one of the nation’s largest media markets, while Beaumont and Lake Charles extend coverage through the Golden Triangle and Gulf Coast industrial corridors and Corpus Christi expands access to South Texas and the Coastal Bend. “Windsong is long on over-the-air markets and is aggressively extending its reach throughout North America,” stated Chuck Johnson, Chief Operating Officer of Windsong Communications.
Under its Agreement with Windsong Communications, Inc., TCN will provide its programming feed while retaining control of programming, advertising and sponsorship inventory, supporting continued direct relationships with artists, advertisers, sponsors and content partners. Windsong also plans additional stations serving Austin, San Antonio and Waco, Texas; Kansas City, Missouri; Columbus, Ohio; Buffalo, New York; Greensboro, North Carolina; and Tallahassee and Sebastian, Florida. Upon completion, Windsong estimates its current and planned station footprint will serve approximately 22.2 million people and 9.4 million television households, providing TCN with a broader multi-region platform for programming, advertising, sponsorship, branded entertainment and original content across the Southern, Midwestern and Northeastern United States.
DISTRIBUTION DESIGNED TO CREATE COMMERCIAL VALUE
TCN’s expansion strategy is built around more than audience reach.
Each additional market increases the network’s ability to connect established and emerging country artists with new audiences; expand advertising inventory for regional and national advertisers; develop integrated sponsorship opportunities for private and national brands; increase distribution of original programming, music videos and branded entertainment; build relationships with local businesses and communities; and strengthen the long-term commercial value of TCN’s programming and distribution platform.
“Every new market gives us another opportunity to connect artists with fans and advertisers with an audience that is passionate about country music and the lifestyle surrounding it,” said Steven Anderson, Chief Operating Officer of The Country Network. “Our objective is to continue expanding TCN’s audience while building the commercial infrastructure behind the network.”
The Windsong Agreement provides TCN with additional distribution infrastructure as the network continues pursuing broader domestic expansion, streaming growth, programming partnerships, sponsorship opportunities and expanding digital distribution.
More importantly, the relationship represents another step in TCN’s evolution from a collection of individual markets into an integrated media and distribution platform capable of combining local-market relevance with the programming, advertising, sponsorship and commercial opportunities of a growing national network.
BUILDING A BROADER COUNTRY MEDIA PLATFORM
TCN is developing an integrated media strategy connecting traditional over-the-air television with streaming distribution, digital channels, advertiser-supported programming, private-brand sponsorships and other strategic initiatives. The Network’s objective is to create an environment where established and emerging artists can reach audiences, advertisers can connect with country consumers, and aligned private brands can participate across television, streaming, branded content, sponsorship and related media opportunities.
The Windsong expansion is an important component of this strategy, strengthening the physical broadcast infrastructure supporting TCN’s broader growth. As additional markets are developed, TCN expects to continue building a national platform centered on country music, entertainment and lifestyle programming—and the communities and businesses that support country culture.
