Norm Law Names Jennifer Coplan and Rob Parr Co-Heads of Technology Transactions Practice
PR Newswire
NEW YORK, Sept. 15, 2026
Former Sidley global practice leader and Wilson Sonsini Boston practice leader join Lindsey Savage from Blackstone in expanding Norm’s technology transactions capabilities.
NEW YORK, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Norm Law, LLP, an AI-native full-service law firm running on the Norm Ai platform, today announced that Jennifer Coplan and Rob Parr have joined as Partners and co-heads of its Technology Transactions practice.
Coplan previously served as global co-leader of Sidley Austin’s Technology and IP Transactions practice. Parr joins from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he led the information technology transactions practice in the firm’s Boston office. Together with Norm Law Partner Lindsey Savage, they will advise clients across a broad range of strategic technology transactions and other intellectual property-driven commercial transactions and matters.
“Jen and Rob bring exceptional depth across technology and intellectual property-focused transactions,” said Mike Schmidtberger, Chair of Norm Law and former Chair of the Executive Committee of Sidley Austin. “Their experience is highly complementary to Lindsey’s work in enterprise commercial contracts and AI governance, giving clients a team that has decades of experience advising on leading-edge technology transactions on behalf of innovators, licensees, purchasers, investors, and strategic partners.”
Norm Law currently represents large hedge funds, asset managers, private equity firms, and financial institutions across various technology transactions matters. Following Coplan and Parr’s arrival, the expanded practice will also serve technology companies, investors, corporates, and other institutional clients on matters involving software, cloud services, artificial intelligence, data, outsourcing, and other technology and intellectual property assets.
“After spending a career helping clients leverage new technologies to transform traditional business models, it is exciting to see Norm Ai and Norm Law do the same for the delivery of legal services” said Coplan. “Norm Law brings to the practice of technology law a new approach whereby Norm Ai agents customized for client-specific goals and preferences perform a first pass on historically time-intensive legal tasks, and highly experienced lawyers focus their time on what matters most: judgment, counseling, supervision and negotiation, all with the goal of delivering clients a more efficient and consistent work product and satisfying client experience.”
A software engineer before attending Yale Law School, Coplan advises on technology development and licensing, outsourcing, intellectual property acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and the technology and IP aspects of corporate transactions. Her experience spans software, cloud services, artificial intelligence, data analytics, financial services, healthcare, consumer electronics, and digital media.
Coplan has been ranked by Chambers USA for Technology in New York and recognized by The Best Lawyers in America for Technology Law. In 2021, Best Lawyers named her Technology Law “Lawyer of the Year” for the New York metropolitan region, and The American Lawyer named her a Northeast Trailblazer.
“Norm Law offers a fundamentally different starting point for how technology transactions can be performed at the highest level,” said Parr. “Here, Norm Ai is integrated into the firm’s operating model from day one. That gives us the opportunity to rethink how the practice handles the entire gamut of technology transactions work, and to provide high-quality work at scale for clients as their products and businesses evolve.”
Parr advises companies through all stages of growth on the development, acquisition, commercialization, and sale of intellectual property and technology products. His practice includes complex commercial agreements, product counseling, and the technology and IP aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic corporate transactions.
Savage focuses on enterprise technology transactions and AI governance for private equity, financial services, and technology clients. Before joining Norm Law, she served as Head of Commercial Contracts at Blackstone, where she built and led a global team.
Norm Law runs on Norm Ai’s technology platform. Norm Law’s attorneys collaborate with Norm Ai’s engineers to help develop and refine technology that can assist in the performance of various types of legal matters. In the technology transactions practice, the firm’s attorneys use Norm Ai technology to analyze agreements, compare terms, identify issues across related documents, and move reviews and negotiations forward efficiently. Norm Law attorneys remain responsible for legal judgment and client advice.
