Detroit Police Department spokesperson Jalon Nelson, 28, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in Redford Township on July 31. The arrest followed a response by Redford Township police to calls received around 2 a.m. regarding a police vehicle parked on the grass with its emergency lights activated. The location of the incident was near Telegraph and Schoolcraft roads.

According to reports, Nelson was off-duty at the time of the incident and was found in the back of the Detroit Police vehicle. He reportedly refused to complete a field sobriety test. Subsequently, Nelson was charged with operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .17 or more.
