Compton Calls on Community, Businesses and Sponsors to Support 7th Annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Walk

September 19 event at Compton College will bring together residents, community leaders and health partners for free PSA testing, education and resources

COMPTON, CA, UNITED STATES, August 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The 7th Annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Walk & Community Giveaway returns to Compton College on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with organizers calling on residents, businesses, community organizations and corporate partners throughout Southern California to walk, sponsor and help spread a potentially lifesaving message.

Produced by the Compton Entertainment Chamber of Commerce (CECC) and Lyrical Revolution, the annual event brings together community leaders, health professionals, survivors, families and advocates around one critical mission: increasing prostate cancer awareness and encouraging men to get screened.

Community leaders participating in this year’s event include Hip Hop pioneer and prostate cancer survivor Alonzo “Lonzo” Williams and Compton Councilman Jonathan Bowers.

Attendees will have access to free PSA testing, health information, community resources, conversations with survivors and medical professionals, and a community giveaway.

The message is simple: Learn the facts. Get screened. Save lives.

Residents throughout Compton and surrounding communities are encouraged to register now and bring their fathers, brothers, husbands, sons, uncles, friends and neighbors.
